Leeara Park would like to congratulate news owners of our home bred ponies.  LP Royal Jester has been sold to Louisa Smith of SA, and LP Royal Destiny has made her way to Esperance WA with Andrea Carmody.  We wish both of these new combinations the very best in the future, and look forward to hearing of their success.

Members of the Leeara Park show team have been doing us proud through the beginning of the 2011 season.  LP Peter Pan at his only show attended this year was awarded Champion Riding Pony Yearling and Champion WA Bred Yearling under Judge Mrs Catherine Bradley at the Riding Pony Youngstock Show.

LP Royal Petite had a fantastic win at the SHC Classic, being awarded Champion Large Pony, qualifying her for the Grand Nationals for the second year in a row (under judge Ms Leonie Roberts).

Newcomer LP Regal Reflection, who was broken in by us in January has proved to be a lovely Galloway to work with, accumulating much success from his short ridden career so far.

Other news from the stud, our only foal for the season, Leeara Park Casino Royale (Dresden Ace of Spades x Kirreway Electra) is growing up to be a magnificent animal.  Our 2012 Newcomer Large Pony, Xtra Bright of Sefton (Rathowen XL x Rathowen Shining) is coming along well; we are very excited to be showing her under saddle.

We received some very exciting news from Deborah Ferris of NZ, owner of Leeara Park First Edition.  Leo competed at the NZ Easter Royal Show and was declared Champion Golden Horse and Supreme Led exhibit of the Show, as well as Champion 13.2hh pony!!!!!    WOW Leo, we are so proud of you for continuing your success at the highest of levels on the international show scene.  Huge congratulations to all connections.

Royal and Regal of Sefton will be standing at stud for 2011 via AI (Fresh, Chilled, Frozen semen available).

We were given a scare recently when YP Chipmonk went down with colic, unfortunately he ended up requiring surgery however he has pulled through well and is now back at home recovering in the paddock.

Our last two foals (YP National Velvet & Gem Park Faberge) have just been weaned for this year and will start show prepping all our babies for Perth Royal in the next few months which is sure to keep us busy!

We wish all our clients and friends the best of luck for the rest of the season!!!

LEEARA PARK NEWS

2011 has proved to be a fabulous year for our Leeara Park stock with great achievements both in-hand and under saddle.

Firstly Leeara Park Royal Petite (Royal and Regal of Sefton X Tanglewood Park Serenade in Gold) had a wonderful season winning Champion Large Pony at the Show Horse Council Classic and qualifying for the Grand Nationals for the second time in as many years. We are considering the long trek over to Sydney and are very excited about her 2012 season.

Our very extreme Xtra Bright of Sefton (Rathowen XL X Rathowen Shining) has been broken in and is going exceptionally well, Dimity will be a newcomer large pony for 2012. Huge thanks must go to Caitlyn Bolger for the fabulous job she has done with our Dim.

Leeara Park Birthday Girl (Royal and Regal of Sefton X Tanglewood Park Serenade in Gold) (owned by the Rowan Family) has had a fabulous year, winning many Supreme Championships in all her breeds culminating in Supreme Champion Palomino at this years Perth Royal Show. We couldn’t have been prouder. She was broken in by ourselves and will be competing in the Newcomer Large Pony classes for 2012. We wish her owners the very best of luck.  The Rowan family have also purchased Leeara Park Regal Image (Royal and Regal of Sefton X Bella Darma) and we wish them all the best with him next season.

Leeara Park Regal Reflection (Royal and Regal of Sefton X Bella Darma) has been sold to a top show home with Rachel Langley. Elvis competed with our show team for the 2011 season achieving Top 10 Small Galloway of the Year at EFA, Top 10 Newcomer Galloway of the Year SHC & EFA, Champion Led & Ridden Riding Pony 13.2 – 14.2hh at the RP Senior Show. We wish Elvis and Rachel the very best of luck in the Small Galloway classes in 2012.

Leeara Park Peter Pan (Royal and Regal of Sefton X Weatherley Figurine) has had an exceptional season, having only been out a handful of times, Harley has won Led Yearling of the Year the Riding Pony Youngstock Show in February, Champion WA Bred Yearling, 1st in Riding Pony Colt 2 & 3 Years at the Perth Royal Show and numerous Supreme Championships at various Breed Shows.

We have had two foals born this year, both by Royal and Regal of Sefton. A chestnut colt with lots of crome, from Tanglewood Park Serenade in Gold who has definitely thrown back to his grand sire Ninfield Minks Supreme, Carter will be offered for sale and expressions of interest are invited. Secondly, a tiny chestnut filly with a star from Weatherley Figurine. Melissa Direen has also had a brown colt with a huge star out of her tb mare and he is devine, we are extremely happy with all foals being true to type, move like the wind and have their fathers trademark temperament.

We have a few new faces that will be gracing the WA show ring in 2012 and we look forward to catching up with everyone again after the silly season.

Merry Christmas to you all, family and animals included, stay safe and enjoy the holidays!!

BRAYSIDE NEWS

Brayside Stud has had a busy and rewarding year in 2011.  Due to a change in circumstances we have purchased back our stunning palomino gelding Brayside Flaunt It, who was previously sold to the Roberts Family of Queensland and he will now be staying in WA.  Brayside Heavenly Vision made her saddle debut with rider Brittany Wilson winning Supreme Ridden Exhibit at her first outing; we look forward to seeing this pair compete in their Newcomer Season in 2012.

Brayside National Treasure has had a great year in both the halter and ridden rings, again winning the Supreme Part Welsh Youngstock award.  We look forward to him having a successful year in 2012.  Brayside Shakira has had a quiet year but recently won the State Champion ARP 4 Years & Over, Kira has won this award for four consecutive years in her age group.  We enjoyed seeing Brayside Cartier back in the ring after a long road to recovery and look forward to seeing him and owners Nikole and Anita out next year.

Our young colt Brayside Brilliance has only attended a couple of inhand shows with great results, the highlight winning the Supreme Derivative Young Stock at the WA Trilogy Show for the second consecutive year (as a weanling and yearling).
Grace has also had a great year winning 2nd Runner Up in the Rider 14yrs & under at this year’s EWA Horse of the Year and Top 5 at SHCWA HOTY.  She has also started competing on our homebred show hunter pony Brayside Butterscotch for great results and winning many broad sashes, and has also bought out a newcomer small pony Penley Wedgewood who won the EA Small Pony Newcomers and placed 3rd in the Novice at the Royal.

WESSWOODS STUD

WA bred Wesswoods Supacaste ET, was sent over to Deanhills Stud as a two yo and was put in foal to Sandbourne Royal Ensign imp and produced a bay filly Wesswoods Justacaste whom we showed as a yearling in SA where she won her class  and then went Reserve. Her Dam, Sophie was then broken in and a few months later took out SA Galloway of the Year, she went on to have many more wins under Mark Kenzig and her last win was at the 2011 Melbourne Royal where she won her Novice Small Galloway and went on to be best Novice & second in the Open Galloway, she is having time off and has gone in foal to Dresden Ace of Spades.

At a later date she will resume her show ring career in Victoria under Briony Payne who is presently campaigning her full brother Wesswoods Magic Caste et who after a very short career has qualified for all Royals as well as SHC Grand Nationals ...we saved the best till last and both these Pure Caste x Oakvale Serenade kids are a credit to the stallion, with beautiful, trainable and unflappable temperaments...thanks Mavis for bringing him to WA.

ARIA LODGE

This year has been a mix of emotions at Aria with the untimely loss of our very special filly Aria Sounds Of Style mid way through the year. Being the only filly from Mibella Of Wyuna and a personal favourite  she will be missed for some time to come.

On a brighter note our matriarch, Mibella Of Wyuna didn't let us down producing another exceptional foal this year and of course he is Bay!! This chestnut mare has had 5 bays from 5 foals! Pokey is as cute as they come and shows all of the promise of his half siblings Aria Armani & Romantik ; full siblings Sounds Of Style & Indulgance. The much awaited foaling of Bella Sera x Turberry Tom Kitten(imp) did not disappoint resulting in a beautiful true black filly. Demi has awesome conformation, oozes class, the most unbelievable movement  and an endearing personality. She is Enormous! Looking like she will easily mature small hack!! Bella Sera has now been sold to Kristen Bates-Tauton of Tremayne Stud QLD, I wish her all the best with this stunning mare.

Our two year old filly Aria Eclipse (Bella Sera x Oakvale Serenade) has just come in for some education and breaking in. A beautiful filly who looks to have a very bright saddle future, I am very much looking forward to getting her out and about next year.

We are hopefully expecting two foals next year, Mibella has gone to Turberry Tom Kitten(imp) a cross I am very excited about and a new TB mare for Aria, Mahawangsa who is by Bletchley Park out of a Is It True mare, she is a stunning mare with movement to burn she will be going in foal also.

We are hoping to get out to more shows next year and wish everyone a Merry Christmas & A Happy & Safe New year.

ES SHOW HORSES NEWS

ES Show horses is owned by Joanne & Robyn Endersby.  We have this year bred our first foal under this prefix, a lovely chestnut colt, ES Dicaprio, who is by Penmain Heir Apparent and out of Gordon Park Secret Liason.

Our fantastic show pony mare Westlake Living Doll has now officially retired from the show ring after winning 5 horse of the year titles, top 10 at SHC Nationals, 3rd at EA Nationals, 2 open champions, champion novice and supreme riding pony at Perth Royal and champion open pony at Canberra Royal.  She qualified for grand nationals 9 times and EA Nationals 3 times in 3 years.  She is now in foal to Beckworth Rising Shadow and we eagerly await her August 2012 foal.

Gem Park Harmony has started her ridden career well winning the EWA Intermediate Large Hack. We were very happy with her results from her first royal winning her filly class in both the Arabian derivative and part welsh breeds, she was reserve champion mare or filly in both sections and also won the champion youngstock award in the part welsh.

Gem Park Guess will be starting his show career soon and we hope to have him out in hand early 2012.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy xmas and new years!

THORNE PARK NEWS

It has been a great year for Thorne Park this year. After some terrible years, it is nice to finally have some good times.

The pinnacle of our 2011 has been to showring successes of our beautiful imported mare Diptford Amazing Grace IMP. We were delighted when she took out Supreme RP at the Orange Grove Breed Spectacular, but to follow that with Supreme Riding Pony at the Royal Show was a major thrill. After being so successful under saddle it was nice to know she is also a wonderful led mare. The All Welsh was to be Grace’s final show in hand and she certainly did not disappoint coming home with Supreme Part Welsh Exhibit. The judge Sandy Anderson, said there would be nothing in the UK to touch her in the Cuddy in Hand Championships at the Horse of the Year Show which reconfirmed how happy we were with our decision to bring her out for a led career. We can’t thank her handler Luke Dawes enough for his help, support and expertise in campaigning Grace. After working with her in the UK, it certainly was an easy decision to have Luke on the end of the lead.

Thorne Park progeny have also made us very proud this year with their achievements. Thorne Parks Poetry’s (out of Kinlieth Primadonna) debut under saddle has been all that we anticipated. This exceptional moving pony’s win for EA Intermediate Large pony of the Year was a highlight. Well done to Danielle Cuijpers and Shanara Beresi for their efforts. Thorne Parks Song & Dance (out of Blandford Dancing Queen) has also been highly competitive this year, but again a highlight for him was winning the SHC Newcomers. Well done to Chrissie Bell. On a less Showring orientated success, Thorne Parks Heavens Above (out of Glyndebourne Morticia) is proving herself in the harness ring. With some wonderful successes recently we are delighted our stock are proving to be so versatile.

The breeding season has seen our only foal born for 2011. Kinlieth Primadonna gave birth to a beautiful chestnut filly by Penmain Heir Apparent. If this filly can move anything like her brothers this is going to be one exceptional filly. With a nice amount of bling she will certainly be a standout in the showring. We are super proud to announce this beautiful filly has already found a new home with an elite WA show home so we are absolutely delighted. Grace has already been confirmed in foal to Turberry Tom Kitten IMP for a 2012 foal. After losing her foal by Cusop Dimension it seemed like an obvious choice to put her in foal to his only son in Australia. Lets hope the cross is as successful. Glyndebourne Morticia has been covered by Rosedale Eton and we are eagerly awaiting a preg test. Thanks so much to Kellie Patterson for taking Tish to her beautiful boy. Finally Blandford Dancing Queen threw us a few hurdles early in the season, but I am delighted to say she has now been AI’ed to, UK’s Top Leading Rein and First Ridden Producer Beckside Little Toff (by Lechlade Quince)

Our website www.thorneparkstud.comis being updated more regularly so don’t hesitate to visit or on our Facebook Page where we have some beautiful stock for sale. Best season wishes to all. See you for 2012.
